Our story
We started with a simple frustration.
When a loved one suddenly needs help at home, families in Roanoke are handed a search engine and a long list of agencies. Half do not answer. Some do not serve your town. A few are wonderful, but there is no easy way to know which.
Roanoke Companion Care exists to fix that. We are a locally owned matching service, not a franchise and not a call center. We get to know the companion care, in-home care and placement providers across the Roanoke Valley and Southwest Virginia, and we connect families with the ones that fit.

How we vet providers
Not every agency makes the list.
Licensing and insurance
Providers must hold the Virginia licenses their services require and carry liability insurance. We ask for documentation, not promises.
Caregiver screening
We only work with agencies that run criminal background checks, verify references and train their caregivers.
Real availability
An agency with no open caregivers cannot help you. We confirm current capacity before sending a referral.
Family feedback
We follow up with families after a match. Providers who do not call back, show up late or surprise families with fees are removed.
How we are paid
Free for families. Always.
Providers in our network pay us a referral or marketing fee when we introduce them to a family. That fee never changes what you pay the provider, and you are never obligated to hire anyone we introduce. We tell you this up front because trust is the whole point.
